As per the official figures by the Federal Statistical Office of Germany, registering a 20.85% increase, there were 25,149 students from India enrolled in Germany in the Winter Semester 2019-20.

As per the German Academic Exchange Service, or DAAD for Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst, the rate of growth in the number of Indian students going to Germany is nearly 5 times that of the global average.

 Indian students form the 2nd largest group of international students enrolled at universities in Germany.  

A majority of Indian students in Germany opted to study Engineering [67%].

 

Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the interest of international students in study abroad in Germany remains the same.
